The relationship between a person and the surrounding space transcends the merely physical aspect; an environment affects the body and mind in an intangible way, causing sensations that are not always immediately perceived. The aim of the research was to explore the relationships between matter and experience and as a study tool the creation of devices that we defined as “sensation amplifiers”. These experiential tools are the result of exclusively manual work obtained without any use of digital media. We started from a codification of sensations defined at the origin to arrive at the construction of artefacts capable of arousing experience in the user, through empirical tests and through the in-depth knowledge of materials which, due to their intrinsic characteristics, were fit for purpose.
