The Rebirth of a Cube in the Industrial Heart of Beijing.
The silent cube in the industrial heart of Beijing is being transformed into a bright and dynamic environment, where zenithal and artificial light intertwine, following a rigorous architectural balance between solid and voids.
The project spans three floors. On the ground floor, a long path through a black corridor leads to a spacious exhibition area, where the project walls engage in dialogue with the historic 1400s depiction of Venice by De Barbari. In contrast, to the right, an iconic vertical green wall stretches toward the sky through a horizontal cut in the roof. The entire scene is reflected in the central water square, a mutable space evoking the rhythm of the Venetian tides, elegantly concealing and revealing the entrance to the upper floor.
A white steel staircase, suspended and anchored with structural glass panels, guides visitors beyond the glass cube to the infinity of the sky. On the second floor, overlooking the double-height space, to the left is a large living area with sofas and a western-style monolithic kitchen, while to the right, the operational areas take shape: the designer zone, the material area with a meeting table, and the executive offices.
A secret door finally leads to the VIP Room, a true technological gem with structural glass on all six sides, dissolving the boundaries between space and sky, offering a 360-degree view of the horizon.
This intervention masterfully merges history, innovation, and nature, breathing new life into an industrial space in the heart of the city.
