The surface is the defining element of a space, the first connection with the user.
This research explores the creation of surfaces using the traditional Japanese technique of Kirigami, where paper is cut and folded to create complex three-dimensional structures. New design horizons arise from the materiality itself, opening up new possible pathways. The models are the result of purely manual work, serving as tools for research and experimentation in design composition. Their purpose is to represent an idea or evoke a concept.
